When Is Hajj?

Hajj is the sacred Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and one of the Five Pillars of Islam — a journey that every Muslim who is physically and financially able must undertake at least once in their lifetime. Each year, millions of pilgrims from around the world converge on the Grand Mosque and the surrounding holy sites to perform ancient rites of worship and unity.

Because Hajj follows the Islamic lunar calendar (Hijri), its dates shift approximately 10 to 11 days earlier each year relative to the Gregorian calendar. The 2026 Hajj falls around June 2–7, and in future years it will continue to move earlier through the solar year, cycling through all seasons over roughly 33 years.
