Orionid Meteor Shower
The Orionid Meteor Shower peaks on the night of October 22 with about 20 meteors per hour, radiating from the constellation Orion. Like the Eta Aquariids in May, the Orionids come from debris left by Halley's Comet. Orionids are fast (66 km/s) and often produce bright fireballs with persistent trails. The shower stays active into late November.
